A Welcome from the Principal

Dear Westwood Charter Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Westwood Charter! Whether you are returning or joining our school community for the first time, I am delighted to welcome you to what promises to be an exciting year of learning, growth, and opportunity.

I am proud to share that Westwood Charter has successfully renewed our School Charter for the next six years, affirming our commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience for every student.

This year, we will continue to strengthen the programs that make Westwood unique. Our focus on service learning, experiential learning, and teaching through the lens of history and the lived experiences of others will help students develop critical thinking, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Building a strong sense of belonging remains one of our highest priorities. We are excited to expand our partnership with Maple Counseling to further support our Community Circles, providing students with meaningful opportunities to build relationships, strengthen social-emotional skills, and foster a positive school culture.

Students will also continue to enjoy enriching experiences through the arts and our P.A.W.S. program, where we encourage every child to Practice Compassion, Act Responsibly, Work Hard, and Stay Safe.

Above all, it is important to me that every student, family, and staff member feels welcome, valued, and connected. Together, we will continue to create a school community where every child is supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

Thank you for being a part of the Westwood Charter family. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead!

Warm regards,

Dr. Elizabeth Lehmann
